This wall hanging has four different panels with different scenery showing the four seasons. I got the inspiration from the book, JAPANESE INSPIRATIONS by Janet Haigh, where she captures the unique style of prints, embroideries, and weavings from the Orient. I created this wall hanging using several techniques: hand piecing, machine piecing, machine applique, and stenciling. In creating this piece, I had to learn how to make my own stencils and pass paint onto the fabric. I achieved my goal of combining western techniques with Oriental style.Quilt Size: 58"x48½"
